Cheikh Diop of Afric’Arts is a highly experienced African Drummer, African Dancer, percussionist and African crafts maker. Cheikh has led over 300 school and educational organisations, workshops and music projects in the UK since 2005.
Cheikh Diop has performed at music concerts in the UK and Europe: Chelsea Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Under-Age Festival, Disneyland Paris, Natural History Museum, BBC Headroom Project, Covent Garden, FIMEC Festival – Seville, and at venues across the world including Monte Carlo, Valencia, Marrakech, Malta, Istanbul and the Dead Sea Resorts.
Cheikh Diop has facilitated many national and international team-building shows in the corporate field for companies such as NHS, BBC, IBM.
Afric’Arts was setup by Cheikh Diop to promote African drumming and African dance and to generally share African culture and tradition through arts, music and story-telling with a worldwide audience and to promote the talents of artists with similar backgrounds and ambitions. Cheikh is from Senegal, West Africa. Cheikh started his artistic career within the Griot Families (traditional African musicians and historians) of his home city of HLM in Dakar the capital of Senegal.
